山本 隆博|TAKAHIRO YAMAMOTO
was born in Sabae, Fukui Prefecture, in 1967. He started his apprenticeship with his father, Hideaki Yamamoto, at the age of 18, and started to work independently in 1992. Utilizing the classical techniques of lacquer craft, Yamamoto creates unique contemporary shapes and expressions using sophisticated lacquering techniques. His work, which is both delicate and sturdy, has earned him a high reputation among many chefs and collectors. In recent years, he has also boldly taken on the challenge of creating innovative expressions using rare beautiful woods. His work has also attracted many collectors from overseas.
